Protect Your Personal Finances During COVID-19

Image removed. You’ve probably gotten your pantry and supplies stocked in your preparations for the current global coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. But have you made sure that your finances are prepared? Here are the steps you can take to protect your finances:

Familiarize Yourself with our Digital Services

We are recommending that members utilize our various self-service options in an effort to limit visits to our branches and protect our members and staff. You can access your accounts 24/7 with our Digital Banking, available through any internet browser on your computer or mobile device as well as our mobile app for Apple® and Android™ devices. Transfer funds, check balances, make loan payments, pay bills, deposit checks with mobile deposit (eligibility required), apply for loans, and manage your money all in one place. You can also send us secure messages through Digital Banking. If you have a question about your account or need assistance, this is an excellent alternative option to communicate with us. If you’re not familiar with Digital Banking, or to learn more about all of our available features, view our Digital Banking member guide.

Please verify that your Digital Banking credentials are current and functional to ensure there is no disruption to your account access, especially if you have not recently access your accounts online.

Use Other Self-Service Options

We provide a number of other options in addition to Digital Banking to ensure you are always able to access your accounts and manage your money:

  • Telephone Banking – We offer Command Call, our 24-hour telephone teller, as an easy way to access your account balance information or perform transactions over the phone. Use Command Call by dialing 478-923-3773 or 800-241-2405, option 1.
  • ATM Access – Access your accounts 24/7 at any one of our over 85,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide. All Robins Financial Credit Union ATMs accept both cash and check deposits, in addition to conducting account transactions and cash withdrawals. You can find your nearest ATM location here.
  • Drive-thru Access – Our branches are equipped with full-service drive-thrus to assist you in conducting your financial transactions during our normal business hours. Conducting transactions using the drive-thru helps us limit contact and minimize possible transmission or exposure.

Automate Your Payments & Use Bill Pay

If you haven’t already set up automatic payments for your bills and loans, now is the perfect time to do. Give yourself one less thing to worry about. Set up recurring bill payments using our online Bill Pay. All of our loan applications including mortgage loans are available online. Use our online loan payment portal to pay your Robins Financial loans online from another financial institution.

Use Your Tax Refund as an Emergency Fund

If you’ve already received your tax refund or are expecting to receive it soon, hold off on spending it. Instead, put that money towards your emergency fund in case you need access to additional funds during this time of such uncertainty. You can always spend or invest it at a later time if you don’t end up needing it right now.

Stay Aware of Scams

Unfortunately, times of crisis can bring out the worst in some people. It’s important to stay on high alert to protect yourself from phony phone calls and emails from companies and charities claiming to offer coronavirus relief or requesting information from you. Never give out any personal information, especially your digital banking username or password.

Stay In the Loop

We are in constant development of the most effective plan to protect our members and employees. We want to make sure you are aware of any changes that we make. We will communicate necessary updates via email, updates to our website, and shared across our social media accounts. Make sure the contact information on your account is up-to-date to ensure you never miss an update from us.

We Are Here For You

Please reach out to us if you are adversely affected financially as a result of COVID-19. We stand by ready to work with you to minimize potential financial hardships during this time.

While it is difficult to predict how this situation will evolve, we remain committed to keeping you informed and will update you with each new development. Our Call Center remains available during our normal business hours, but we are anticipating higher call volumes and longer wait times as everyone makes sure their finances are prepared to face this pandemic. We appreciate your patience as we all navigate this together.
